The APS 5 Series Modular DC Loads deliver medium to high-power from 60V to 500V inputs, in compact 19” 4U units up to 1.8kW, scalable up to 14.4kW. The 5 Series includes four product families: 5D (LED loads), 5L (60V, up to 1.8kW), 5P (60V, up to 14.4kW), and 5V (500V, up to 14.4kW).

Compact, Economical DC Loads
The 5D Series models are special LED loads designed to support development and test of LED drivers. These loads simulate various combinations of LED and their electrical characteristics.
The 5L and 5P Series models support voltages to 60V and are well suited for testing 12V, 24V or 48V batteries. Their flexible V-I operating curves span range of voltage and current combinations at any given power level.
The 5V Series supports up to 500Vdc for EV/HEV battery packs and energy storage systems. Scalable cabinet systems combine master and slave units, making them ideal for burn-in and battery discharge testing. They deliver high power and durability at a cost-effective price.
- 5D Series: Designed specifically for LED driver testing. These loads mimic LED electrical behavior to help in development and characterization.
- 5L Series: Offers excellent power density in a compact 4U frame. Handles low-voltage loads from 0.6V up to 60V with precision and dynamic control.
- 5P Series: Builds on the 5L by combining multiple units into one cabinet. Ideal for high-current applications (up to 1000A) with simplified wiring and control for demanding testing environments.
- 5V Series: Extends capabilities to up to 500V and heavy currents (up to 500A) in both standalone and cabinet setups. Well-suited for testing large battery packs, renewable energy systems, and EV/HEV applications.
